See The World On A Shoestring Budget!
I used to be a whole lot like you. I used to think that vacation packages were way out of my price range, and that the only cheap trips were trips down to the 7-11 at the corner. I did not believe that anyone could get cheap tickets, except on hunk of junk airplanes going to war torn banana republics and other such forsaken hell-holes. But boy, was I ever mistaken in these beliefs. It is actually really quite easy to find cheap trips all over the world if you just know where you should look and how you should go about it.
Take, for example, cheap airline tickets. There are many services that will provide cheap trips on certain days. For example, if you log in to Alaska Airlines on Tuesday, you can see all of their deals on a variety of varied and interesting destinations. It is really something, if you ask me. One week, I decided to fly to Anchorage, Alaska on a complete whim, and boy did I ever enjoy my trip there! And it was such a cheap trip, you would not believe it. Most of my cheap trips do not cost more than 200 or 300 dollars for airfare, no matter where I am going to! It is just amazing to be able to explore such exciting places on cheap trips.
You can even find cheap trips on cruise ships sometimes, if you do not have your little heart set on staying in the very most expensive cabin that there is. The accommodations in your room might be spartan, but you will have the chance to sail the whole ocean, stopping at exotic and picturesque islands. And, of course, you will be able to feast on the delicious food that is the hallmark of modern cruise ship fair. Not at all bad for cheap trips. You can sometimes enjoy a week for under a hundred dollars, which is really inexpensive enough that the prospect should make you delirious to ponder.
Of course, it is a whole lot harder to go and find cheap trips if you do not have a travel agent, so I think that finding a good one is almost indispensable. That way, they will be able to look at all of your interests, and design cheap trips to suit them to a tee. You will be able to find cheap trips to places that you have not even pondered before, and between reasonable airline tickets and inexpensive cruises, will return with the shirt on your back, and a smile on your face.
